Okay, okay; Netsky’s back.
I don’t want to say that I didn’t want Netsky to return to drum & bass. Back in my day (pulls out reading glasses), I remember when Ganja had a “Liq-weed” sister imprint that housed some early Netsky releases. That was before he exploded on Hospital Records.
Netsky actually stuck around for a bit, but as tempos shifted and EDM became a thing, the Belgian phenom signed with Sony under their Ultra imprint in a deal that still allowed Netsky to break bread with Hospital.
The prodigal son returns
Fast forward to 2020, and Netsky has a new album, Second Nature, set to drop via Hospital on October 30, 2020. “I See the Future in Your Eyes” isn’t my vibe, but “Mixed Emotions” feels like that peak late-August emotional anthem everyone’s been waiting for. Shame we aren’t in the club to bop to this as a family.
Netsky’s new material is all but guaranteed to hit. Dude has spent years being talented AF. He’s also honed in on how to work a crowd into a frenzy. He’ll be doing well. You, on the other hand, might need a mop before “Mixed Emotions” runs its course.
